Doggy Philosophy 101

Our canine buddies have a special enthusiasm, and often have a pretty ‘pawsitive’ outlook on life. If your dog had a book of Golden Rules, what do you think would be in it? A Murrieta, CA vet offers some suggestions below.

Be Loyal

There are many things to love about dogs, but one of the best things about them is their loyalty. Fido will stick faithfully by your side through thick and thin, and has a special way of knowing when to offer extra cuddles and love. Be loyal to those who are good to you!

Stop To Smell The Roses. And The Grass. And the Bushes.

Our canine pals certainly do like to savor the small things in life. You don’t need to remind Fido to stop and smell the roses! Take a cue from your furry pal, and remember to really savor life’s smaller treasures.

Have Fun

Dogs are beyond adorable when they are bounding after a ball or Frisbee, or jumping to catch a squeaky toy you just tossed. Fido certainly does love to run and play! This is a great reminder of how important it is to take time just for having fun.

Eat Well

We don’t have to tell you about Fido’s love of food. Your furry buddy would probably eat anything and everything, given the chance. While you don’t want to go overboard, it’s important to eat well. Good nutrition is very important!

Stay Alert

It isn’t uncommon for our canine friends to let us know there’s someone at the door before we even hear a knock. Fido’s habit of staying alert is a good example for all of us!

Show Your Enthusiasm

There are few things cuter than a happy dog. If Fido is thrilled to see you, he may wag his tail so hard his whole back end moves. And, while scientists officially say dogs don’t smile, we’ve all seen adorable photos of cheerful pooches that say otherwise. Be happy!

Get Plenty Of Rest

While Fluffy may be the undisputed napping champion of the animal world, Fido is no slouch here, either. Dogs spend about half their time snoozing! Get your pooch a comfy bed to doze off in, and make sure that you’re also getting the rest you need.
